Fundraise

Kirtan Darbar

Speak to your friends or gurdwara committee to organise a charity kirtan event where the proceeds from the stage can go to World Sikh Aid. Or maybe even hold a charity stall on a regular basis at the Gurdwara.

Street Collections

Fundraising by collecting money in the streets is an effective way to generate funds for World Sikh Aid.
We will provide you with literature, collection stickers and tins to make it a success.
So good areas to target include, outside train stations, concerts and football/sports stadiums after games.

Some venues may need local authority permission.

Car boot sale

This type of event is favoured by schools, church halls and community centres, enabling you and your friends to sell unwanted goods for charity

Company match funding

Many employers throughout the UK offer employees the chance to boost their fundraising efforts by ‘matching’ the money they raise. It really is money for nothing and your employer could even double the amount of cash you raise with very little effort.

In schools

Ask your teacher if your class can have a charity dress down day (non-uniform) and ask everyone to pay £1 to wear their own casual clothes.
You could even ask your teacher whether you can hold a bring-and-buy sale where your class or even the whole school Brings their old books, toys, music cds, games to sell, and donate the profit to World Sikh Aid.
